I would be worried if I was LAD.

Juan Soto with Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr coming back eventually. And SD has sufficient pitching to win games.

Dodgers have the division locked up but SD is pushing to lock down the wild card and if their bullpen can hold teams down, they would need to ask very little out of Clevinger, Snell and Darvish come October.
I swear this board never listens to me

shyt any smart fan knew that the Dodgers didn't want smoke with the Cardinals or Padres. With the way they handled the Pads in the season you knew it was going to look somewhat different in the playoffs and the Cardinals is like cryptonite to this organization no matter what year it is.

Hopefully those bats wake up but it's the same thing every playoffs...they go silent.

I just need to see this team win a World Series in a true playoff format. Love they got the Covid one but we need that full season trophy

To be fair it’s not like I said the padres will beat them.

Even when I called the Braves catching the Mets, I’m not making guarantees.

I like to point out likelihoods.
It is mildly annoying though when you point out things that are really possible given your analysis and others ignore you or outright say you’re way off base.

It’s like dude… :beli:

3-8 in one run games.

Disappointing start to the season from Hoskins and Realmuto.

They need starting pitching really badly. Even though he was bad today, Zach Eflin should perform fairly well for a back end starter. I'm not a believer in Ranger Suarez. He'd be back to the bullpen out out entirely if they could find another SP.

I do think the Phillies lineup is among the best in the game. I think they'll heat up.

They’ve been very unlucky this year and now things are starting to go their way.

If only Harper was still healthy…

The Phillies record by month:

April: 11-11
May: 10-18
June: 19-8
July: 15-10
August: 18-11
September to date: 2-4

If not for that horrific month of May, this team might very well be contending for the division.

Wonder if Verlander retires a Tiger or Astro?
Has he said he is retiring?

I'd imagine he returns for another season. He is still pitching at an elite level.
39 years old and he went 175 innings. That's really good.

He's not chasing any milestones; he won't get to 300 wins. He'll probably get his 3rd Cy Young for this season, though.

If he continues, it'll be to win another championship or because he still loves competing.
I would put a Tigers hat on his HOF bust if it were up to me. He's only pitched for Houston for 4.5 seasons.
