i dont have access to it on my current account. i had it on my old account. I forgot the exact requirements. I think it's post count and rep. What exactly those need to be I'm not sure. I want to see 2,000 posts. also if you donate, you can get access but I never do. if you pm blacklab he might give you access. like i said there is a big recruiting/spring workouts thread in there where all the pay-site articles are pasted freely.

Thought this was a response from Ketch in the Locker Room thread that deserved a thread of its own...

"Texas wants its offense to look like Ohio State more than anything else. "

I'm pretty sure most fans would be happy to see shifts in this direction if they occur. Of course, you need an Ezekiel Elliott to be that offense in its current form, but Texas has more than the capability to line up very high-level skill athletes to get free in space. It's run-heavy and can control the clock when needed (like Strong likes) but can also quickly shift to tempo.

Ketch replied with "Yes" when someone asked if there was a source on that

"Just passing along a direct comment from fairly high up the food chain."

Chip is saying the same thing as Ketch

Heard is no where near Swoopes,
"
Jerrod is a great kid, and everyone loves him, but he very much just wanted to be a freshman in college last year," one source close to the situation said. "He wasn't putting in extra time to learn the concepts of the offense, and Shawn Watson is one of the best teachers of quarterbacks around.

"Jerrod was trying to memorize plays and remember plays, and he didn't even do that very well. He was doing the bare minimum.

"If he's serious about competing for the starting quarterback job, his mindset is going to have to change. He's too casual about it. I don't know if he thinks his athletic ability will carry him or not? Because he still struggles to throw the ball with proper footwork and timing, which totally impacts his accuracy - in a negative way.

Had to leave the break room to go to a meeting when we were up 10 with 3 min left. Got a bunch of enraged texts 4 min later.

Seeya, Barnes.

MESSAGE TO JERROD HEARD - TIME IS NOW

1405502.jpg

The message coaches and support staff are trying to get through to Jerrod Heard is: The time is now. Every day. Commit.

In several conversations with people close to the situation, Jerrod Heard still isn't showing the sense of urgency about becoming the starting QB the coaches would expect at this point - with the job essentially open.

Everyone loves Jerrod Heard. He's got a great personality. His teammates like being around him. He's an electric runner - as evidenced by the two 4A state titles he helped Denton Guyer win.

But if you put him on the white board right now and told him to diagram a pass play and why that play is set up the way it is and what to look for from the defense in the way it could/should defend the QB's first and second read, Heard is confused, and is still far behind Tyrone Swoopes.

"Jerrod is a great kid, and everyone loves him, but he very much just wanted to be a freshman in college last year," one source close to the situation said.

"Basically, he's got to do a lot more to earn the trust of his coaches and move up."

When I asked if Heard can put in the work and get caught up enough to compete with Swoopes for the starting job, I was told, "Absolutely. But it hasn't clicked in yet, and that's a surprise."

Bottom line is Swoopes is leading the drills in offseason workouts and is working harder than ever to learn the nuances of the offense. Basically, Swoopes is outworking Heard, and if there was a game tomorrow, Swoopes would be the starter - and it wouldn't be close.

That's a point of frustration, because there are some who think Heard would have the support of the locker room at QB if he would only work as hard as Swoopes.

Swoopes is actively seeking out film work and time to meet with coaches on his own - moreso than Heard. During this time of year, coaches can't order a player to do extra work. A player has to seek that out on his own.

Time will tell. And spring football, which begins March 25, will tell a lot. It will either become obvious to Heard how much additional work is needed for him to catch up, or he'll get passed by.

Technically Swoopes can improve, and I hope he does

His agility is suspect, but getting north and south eh could do damage. even then Texas doesn't need him to be a Quater runningback, just get yards when your two reads aren't there

Texas fans too emotionally caught up in some hero coming and save em, I'm just concerned with someone and anyone coming in and being competent as the Longhorns QB

Is that quote what was in the Alex Dunlap link from a few days ago?

Also, Chris Warren can definitely be Ezekiel Elliott for UT.

Rick Barnes is gonna give me a heart attack. Cot damnnit if we waste next year. Whole damn team of seniors with a 3 point shooter finally arriving and adding Shaq Cleare. I'm assuming Myles is gone. Would have loved to see him with a real coach. Please Patterson, don't waste this shyt. Stop being afraid of going backward. Like with football, there are simply better coaches out there. Go get one.
