Problem is also that many of you think morality is universal, have higher expectations for them and have high hopes and dreams of camaraderie with them.
It is impressive the power of media, because white/European women are the only group of women in the US that are seen as different from their men. Just think about it, people see Chinese-American women as an extension of the strictness of their men, they see mestizo latino-American women as an extension of the machismo of their men, see African American women as an extension of the outspokenness of their men, but when it comes to white women, people expect to them to be the opposite of their men...Like, how?
Media really did a good job portraying them as innocent and semi-saints. That's the only explanation I can think of for how much the rest of the world expects them to behave in a way that will go against their own counterparts in order to protect other groups.
