Hmm...I can count four "complaining about atheists" threads on the front page and only one thread that could be considered anti-religious.
If that many people are complaining about atheists/nonreligious people I can only guess that people are starting to doubt their religions and trying to reassure themselves.
To answer your question though...nothing in particular. There are many secular countries in the world anyway (including the US and Canada) and they vary. But I think most people would consider a secular government (like the US or Canada) better than a theocracy.
If you mean society a completely without religion, then it would still depend on the culture and belief systems of the people in it. Secularism in itself isn't an actual moral/economic system, so it would depend on how the particular country is ran. Socialist/capitalist, welfare state/social Darwinism, nationalistic or pacifistic, etc.
But if two countries were about equal in terms of government, political system, etc., except that one was secular and one was highly religious, I'm pretty sure I'd take the secular one.
