Nobody used the “Rings as the main guy” argument until LeBron came into the league for obvious hater reasons.
This logic breaks down retroactively when applied to Kareem/Magic and in 2017 when applied to Durant/Curry and should the Sixers (Embiid, Simmons, Fultz), Wolves (KAT, Butler, Wiggins) or the Pelicans (Boogie, Davis) win in the future, the Kobe Hater/Were you “the man” logic will sound dumb when applied to them too. If your using Kobe's total ring count to validate him over Lebron despite the fact that Lebron has more individual achievements and statistics then you'd have to do the same for Pippen over Kobe.
Unless you're stupid, no one would legitimately argue that Pippen is better than Kobe because Kobe has far more individual accolades and the fact that he won rings as the number one dude outweighs Pippen's total ring count.
You trying to use Kareem and Magic is retarded because Kareem already proved he could win by himself while being a 6 time MVP before Magic. He was on the end of his prime and he was still the best player in the league/Lakers when Magic won his first FMVP. Kareem just got injured.
Kobe has 1 MVP, not 6. He ain't Kareem. Rings as the main guy count more than rings as the 2nd option. Lebron has more rings than Kobe as the undisputed leader of his team.

If we talking finals(removing MVPs cause I see what you did there) Kareem has only been the best player in a finals twice as well. If we remove those first 4 finals cause of Shaq. Kobe is 2/3, while Lebron is 3/7 soon to be 3/8. That’s nothing to brag about or to be impressed by. Bron has 7 straight finals and only one more FMVP than Kobe, tied with Duncan and more than double the loses than both combined try again

Your logic is full of holes. Now you run to Regular Season MVPs when it has nothing to do with the Championship because you know your logic is flawed.
Kareem won 2 out of 6 finals mvps so he wasn’t the “Man” on four.
Magic won 3 out of 5 finals mvps so he wasn’t the “Man” on two.
Steph Curry has no finals mvps out of two so he was never the “Man” on any.
