was going to post this in the gym but this is good for everyone period of working out or not.
I love water, I dont drink water cause its necessary but I drink it cause I like it. Occasionally ill have a soda, especially if I eat out but mostly water.
I thought I was getting my recommended water intake on most days (8 8oz glasses, or half a gallon) just naturally going to the kitchen and getting glasses of water.
Man I was BSing myself.. It wasnt til I started buying gallons of water for the gym, that I realized, I dont drink nearly as much water as I thought I did. Not even close, not even a fraction. Now im half a gallon a day now for past 2+ weeks.
The results in the gym look/feel amazing obviously but also helps with dieting because with all this water intake, it actually fills you up as well (up to 60% of your body weight is supposed to be water). So you have less desire to snack and especially eat bad. Most people eat out of boredom rather than being truly hungry. (we mistake being hungry for boredom) but half a gallon a day of water decreases these thoughts/hunger (at least with me)
Maybe its mental, maybe its the huge increase in water, but my reps and weight of sets have gone up pretty noticeably in a short period of time. Ima chalk it up to the water, thats the only thing thats changed drastically as far as day to day.
Even bones and especially muscles are made up of some water as well so that could play into it.
The gallon of water, helped me visualize how much water I actually need to drink a day. I really thought I was drinking enough, but I wasnt even close. I recommended even just 1 day buy a gallon of water and drink half of it. If you struggle to drink half of it, then like me you wernt getting your actual daily intake of water.
