It didn't review well (white reviewers never like Black Casted movies too much)
But it is and has always been an alltime classic amongst people of color

Its in my top 5/10 movies of all time for me. I can't name too many movies I've seen more times.
It just doesn't get old no matter what. Maybe the movie buried my draws in the back yard

to CACs its a horrible movie.

Black people know its classic. Redd Foxx, Pryor, Murphy, Reese, Charlie, Arsenio, so much more.

Cacs would have an Oscar takeover if that type of ensemble cast made a movie. fukk them to their essence.

Movie is a classic.
Whites hated on this movie not only because it had one of the goat black cast but it also showed a accurate percentage of how whites was historically in that particular time. It showed how whites stole from blacks and displayed how greedy and jealous they can be. Whites do not like other races making movies historically about them if they are not the victor or if it does not benefit them(like slavery movies) and we all know how Harlem Nights ended. Might of fact was there any other black movie similar to having a goat black cast and having a happy black ending like Harlem Nights?

It would probably have to be some 70's movie like Cotton comes to Harlem
