Would be interesting. You know how many life sentences would be dodged if they lawyered up.

People get caught because...

1) Human beings, many of us, have this insatiable need to be recognized...We want attention and acknowledgment...

So, a group of average joe's commit a crime, and they go back to their hood and start bragging about it, forgetting that the walls have ears...

2) Human beings, many of us, have strong sense of self-preservation...We will throw other people under the bus to preserve ourselves...

So, when the group of average joe's start bragging about what they did, the streets listens...The cops come around and concerned citizen points them in the right direction (as they should)...

A group member gets picked up, a well trained detective applies psychological warfare on the dude...He cracks...

Next thing, the entire gang gets picked up...

If you are going to do dirt, do it on your own...Snitching is the number one weapon detectives have for closing cases, and when looking at real football numbers, anyone of us can potential snitch on our co-defendants...

Better yet, don't do dirt...

Going to school and getting a well paying career is much easier than risking your life for less than minimum wage (average hoodlum money, of course)...

I'd bet any sum of money that the guys who get a lawyer and say nothing on average get less time than guys that talk.

This is excluding people that negotiate a deal before they talk, which would be under the lawyering up side of things anyway.

Deprived of the ability to question and confront suspects and witnesses, a detective is left with physical evidence and in many cases, precious little at that. Without a chance for a detective to manipulate a suspect's mind, a lot of bad people would simply go free.
Yet every defense attorney knows that there can be no good reason for a guilty man to say anything whatsoever to a police officer, and any suspect who calls an attorney will be told as much, bringing the investigation to an end.

I only caught like 2 or 3 episodes but I didn't know the show focused on blacks only

Not all of but alot of episodes...They seem to shoot in cities/areas with large minority populations.

Memphis banned them from shooting there because of how bad it made the city look.

I can only watch this shyt in moderation after ODing when it first came out. The fact that a lot of it was Memphis and then some people I knew or knew of were on it had me . The craziest ones from Memphis were Lester Street Massacre, the tattoo killings and Taylor Bradford. shyt had us looking like a warzone.

They quit filming here in Louisville. They used to book hotel rooms one week at a time waiting for shyt to pop off. My homies brother got. killed a couple years ago I went to his house to tell him and we walked down there they were already there and we were right around the corner. This is true.

I took a criminal justice class in college. The professor told us that the percentage of people who get a lawyer before talking. Are more than 80% likely to get off. While those people who do talk to the detective without talking to a lawyers first, are 90% likely to get convicted.

People need to know to tell the detectives that you not going to talk until you meet with your lawyer.

Yep, all the detective be saying to some of these nikkas is "Do this for your family, do the right thing" and them nikkas confess thinking the cops are their friends or some shyt. Them dumb mufukkas are seen 2 minutes later in handcuffs being escorted to jail, most likely to never ever get out because you prolly not getting no bond being charged with Capital or First degree murder. And guess what, them detectives they thought were on their side in the interrogation room will be doing all they can to assist the DA's office in putting their ass away for the rest of their life.

Maaaan that show is depressing Two guys that knew each other left the club tipsy. They were both drunk and the dude tried to rape/have sex with him at his own house. Other dude is straight so he tried to stop him and the man kept tryna fukk him so this guy beat the hell out of him and choked him to death. He even cried at the end... He said he didn't want to kill him, he was drunk and he tried to screw him so he ended up dying.
