It wasn't just her looks...it was her charm, the way her eyes were so vulnerable, honest, curious and sexual at the same time, her voice too, sophisticated, but sexy....Of course, in 'Breakfast At Tiffanys' she played an absolute idiot of a women, a 1960's version of many of the women we all know today, and still managed to bring some humanity to the character, just enough to make you see why Hannibal would fall for her, the way he did. 'Charade' is my favorite Audrey Hepburn movie, and a much better character, and overall movie then 'Breakfast At Tiffanys', every girl/older sister when I was a kid, had that poster on their walls.

i will check that one out

and i found her character her annoying at first, but tha thing about Audrey is her real personality wuz so strong it even showed thru tha character and you can tell how down to earth she wuz in spite of her obnoxious role

like i told tha other cat on here pictures don't do her justice, you gotta see her eyes in motion and her carefree non-chalant childlike personality unravel on screen :noah:

I like her even more now :noah:
Hepburn's parents were members of the British Union of Fascists in the mid-1930s, with her father becoming a true Nazi sympathiser. After her mother discovered him in bed with the nanny of her children, Hepburn's father left the family abruptly. In the 1960s, Hepburn would finally locate him again in Dublin through the Red Cross. Although he remained emotionally detached, his daughter remained in contact and supported him financially until his death.

one of my boys says this is his favorite movie of all time.

:patrice: is it really THAT good?

It's genuinely in my top 5....one of the most charmful and magical movies ever.

The charm comes from the lead character. Audrey Tautou's performance is one of those....moments. If a performance can be called such. No simp/c00n....:whoa: :birdman:....but you just really fall in love with her character as the film progresses. It's funny, this film seems to sort of have the reputation as being the ideal version of that "magical pixie chick" thing that Zooey Deschanel is known for...but there is actually a bit of mischief, bordering on nastiness. It's not saccharine.

The thing that really takes it to the next level in my eyes is the fantastical elements. It's not a fantasy film really, but there are some magical elements to it. Without them, it would probably just be a "fun rom com" Ever seen City of Lost Children? It's directed by the same guy (Who also did Alien Resurrection....:ld:)

Just peep it. I can't say that it will definitely resonate with you the same way it does me or your friend. It came out in 2001 and while it's definitely timeless, there may also be a bit of that "you had to be there" element.

Fran Jefferies... shes the woman that sung that song in the pink panther.... my research tells me shes at least half greek, her original surname proves this..... but i came across a couple things that indicates that she may be black as well... nothing concrete though

"I have a vague memory of Fran on Merv Griffin or some similar talk show in the early seventies. I remember her saying that her mother was black and that her father was Greek. I wouldn't bet any money on that though because, as yet, I have seen nothing that supports my memory."
