It actually has killed my enthusiasm for movies. I now so much prefer the story arcs of 13 episode seasons if they are well done. Watching a whole story in just 2 hours, vs watching 50 episodes or something of character development.

i look at them like because it's all just one longass episode

Personally prefer to wait a week myself. A good show will have you in your feelings for an entire week and genuinely wanting to set aside time for it. shyt will have you posted up in TFR reading other perspectives and shyt. You can't beat that for me. It's entirely lost with binge watching.

i remember when i found jericho and watched both seasons in like 2 weeks
same with veronica mars, gossip girl, 90210 etc.

only thing i hate about catching a show late i always end up googling then reading ahead, but i'lve gotten better.
hell even now i wait till seasons are done sometimes and just binge watch

This is how I watched Breaking Bad, and it was bittersweet. I loved that I didn't have to wait an entire week for the next episode, but I really missed the camaraderie and discussion that comes with watching a hot show with everyone else.

This is how I watched Breaking Bad, and it was bittersweet. I loved that I didn't have to wait an entire week for the next episode, but I really missed the camaraderie and discussion that comes with watching a hot show with everyone else.

I came in to point this out. Yeah it's cool binge watching but the TV show threads here (and to be fair, I'm sure elsewhere) are legendary, some of the best threads on the entire site. You can always go read them after the fact but there's nothing like an entire thread full of people all "it starts in 5 minutes guys" then seeing how they respond in real time to certain scenes or quotes. The last thread that really did that was for the final 8 episodes of "Breaking Bad".

I never watch shows live so I don't get to follow threads on another forum I post at. I have gone back and read them to get a better understanding of things I might have missed or not noticed. That's not enough to make me want to sit through commercials tho. The Netflix model of dropping a whole season at once is perfect for me. Only thing I ever watch live is sports.
