Watching 300 again..What the hell happened to Gerard Butler?

Hadn't watched in a few years.

Forgot just how great butler is in this. (Also forgot fassbender was in this)

The man absolutely commands the screen in this. Charisma off the charts. Raw intensity,watching this reminded me I thought he had next.

This was a career defining performance and looked like he was next.

But since he's done nothing of any consequence. He's Bad in just about everything else I've seen him in. Those ___ has fallen shyts are laughable.


At this point it must be chalked up to a one off role. Snyder got something out of him nobody else has

Dude didn't look to advance his career, he just went for the money and stopped trying. Remember that before 300 he was the lead in Schumacher's Phantom Of The Opera too. If he had picked his roles more carefully he could've been the go-to charismatic lead for period dramas.
