Watched Donnie Brasco for first time in a long time. I can't say this a classic.

I agree with OP's assessment of the film but strongly disagree on Michael Madsen. I think he played a great street/mob guy, one of the best I've ever seen.

I felt it was very genuine, he felt like a real person, unlike Mr Blonde(which I loved) for instance, which was a caricature.

It's wack. Pacino is great but the rest of the film is cringe.

The whole thing comes off like a cheap, corny imitation of Goodfellas.
