maybe its because this was the first bat flick I saw in theaters and I loved it as a kid, but I honestly don't think its as terrible as most people seem to think it is
it had the best fight scenes of the Burton/Schumacher films, Kilmer was good as Bruce Wayne, the Robin origin story was handled well, Nicole Kidman was looking (probably the only movie where I found her sexy), visuals are dope, and the soundtrack is great (Kiss From a Rose is a classic)
yes, two face and the riddler were way over the top and it had a lot of campy/corny shyt, but I see what Schumacher was doing here. he was pretty much trying to make a comic book movie in the truest sense, and it was a direct reference to the Batman era that wasn't gritty and dark but more campy and over the top.
I think Schumacher was trying to strike the balance between the gritty Batman established by Burton and a more kid friendly version that Warner Brothers wanted. he did a decent job with Forever, it's Batman & Robin where he went crazy. If B&R never dropped I think more people would appreciate Batman Forever
also, the scenes WB made Schumacher cut were dope. much darker than the studio version and it would've added a lot more depth to the film
