I think it was. I got like 35 hours out of it and only did a few side missions.

Played the trial, didn't get far or do anything super fun but I liked what I saw in those short 3 hours. I immediately noticed how alive the city felt. The texts, phone calls, and the ped conversations make the world feel natural. In just 3 hours, I witnessed people taking pics with a selfie stick, some dude bashing up someone's car , an attempted robbery, and even more. The protag seems cool ("I'm black and I'm proud!" ) yet the pacing seems a bit weird. Marcus and the group become buddy-buddy a lil too fast, but I assume it's because the quests aren't in a specific order. The driving is iffy, but overall the game seems dope and packed with things to do. It's not too often you get to play as a brother in AAA games

nice, you can beat it without, its tough i didn't count calling the cops on the bad guys as killing them there was one mission where I capped some fools because they didn't put respek on Dedsecs name

I'm still early on in it, so does anyone have advice on which skill trees are the best ones to invest research points in early on?

I played non lethal so that made me go for certain options
The first thing I'd unlock is remote entry makes your life way easier, street hacks to get the cops off you, upgrade your bots as well
The money hack Is pretty good for getting your cash up quickly
