Considering their 86-24 record against the AFC East has a huge bearing on where they're placed in the playoffs, I'd say that 86-24 has negates alot of anything that happens after you dominate your division. Your division and how you do in it, dictates so much of what happens in the post season..

You don't play the the same NFC teams year in and year out the same way you face the Phins, Bills and Jets twice every year. Some of those teams with the same system and dysfunction year to year. That one extra game vs the same team EVERY year is a huge difference, than playing an organization once every few years. The AFC East is lackluster. That's not a knock on the Patriots, that's just what it is....

I’m not saying the Patriots wouldn’t dominate the NFC, I’m saying that rather than be mad at the Pats for winning, be mad at the the rest of the AFC for allowing them back to back Super Bowl appearances.
