Ultimately, the union didn’t “win” the war. Lincoln freed the slaves because he knew the confederates would have nothing left to fight for. This is why the confederate flag supporters talking about “state’s rights” know they are lying.

They essentially enslaved people again after the war, and with how the handled reconstruction you could make an argument the south won the war in a sense

There's no way Nazi Germany or the Japanese could conqueror the United States. The last time a foreign country could even possibly invade and occupy the country was in the 1800s.

The Union didn't win the war, the Confederacy "kinda won", the Civil War was less impactful to African Americans than WW2 and that's not even 10 posts deep.
Treat historical turning points as if they're standalone events brehs. Ignore the catalyst for the events that follow and pretend there's a magic bullet for centuries of systemic dehumanizing oppression brehs. Delay human rights for an entire population by at least a century & pretend that a war that occurred centuries later is going to have an effect on said population that's comparable ignoring the variables brehs.
