The reason its not worse than the rockstar era is because, not only was the rockstar era extremely corny,wack and gay, but the hollister era atleast had a part in ushering in the current era, which is one of the flyest imo.

Rockstar era was cool. It brought something new and exciting to the game however early 2000 akademiks, ups and a white tee will always surpass some of the nonsense today.
