Everything was affordable. You could get a job, nice car, and a house without a degree. An average blue collar black man could marry a decent/beautiful looking woman and she’d be content with life.

Fast forward to today. Most brehs under 35 are living in apartments or with roommates. Obese single mothers are talking about they need 6 figure earners. And the majority of women are obsessed with zodiac signs, owning businesses, brunch, and traveling.

Inflation in the 70's was in the double digits and on top of that you had a rise of urban crime, drug addiction and the highest rate of domestic terrorism.

but at least the music phenomenal

The 70s was actually kinda bad.

Rise of drugs and gangs, stagflation economy, race relations still bad, etc.

It wasn't until mid 80s to 2000s before things were on the up and up.

I def believe if every black soldier got the GI bill from WW2 and if crack didn’t hit our neighborhoods we would be in a much much better status currently.

Yep. The GI Bill basically built the (white)middle class in this country. Suburbs were being built so for the first time a good chunk of (white)people could own homes, go to college, etc. Black people were left out.

Don't get me started on crack. It really did fukk up a whole generation and we haven't really recovered. :francis:
