Was Sonny Liston murdered for refusing to throw a fight?

Something shady probably happened to Liston with all his mob ties and whatnot. It was too much going on and if Sonny was a drug addict i'm sure people would have known or heard about it a lot sooner instead of not knowing until he died and it was found in his system and in his home.

I believe he was murdered , a man scared of needles and would even get dental surgery done without a shot because he was scared isn't shooting up heroin in his hotel room and ODing.
Not a hotel room, his home. But yes I must agree there...this was as mysterious a death of a famous person as you can find especially when you factor in that he was a fighter for a living and was connected in the Underworld

Just wanted to say....Sonny Liston is one of the most tragic figures in sports. He had deep mob ties and ultimately I think that's what did him in.
On a side note: no one knows exactly when Liston was born. The year 1932 became what people went by although there is strong evidence he was born as early as 1928. If he was born in '28 he would have been 36 years old when he faced a unknown 22 year old Cassius Clay.
