Was Rotten Apple that bad of an album?

I was still playing The Big Withdraw around this time, but I think their run was just over.

The Hunger for More dropped when they could pretty much sell anything off brand alone, but they lost a lot of fans by '06. A lot of people were shytting on Rotten Apple when it dropped. Banks definitely deserved a better run than that.

That song was hard as hell
Top 5 Yayo joint...beat was a missile too :wow:
You know that was partly supposed to be his album but it got shelved.

Next to 50, Buck and Banks, Yayo seems low-teir but compared to the industry at the time Yayo was a monster that just couldn't execute properly on everything.

He never got a fair shake at mainstream success as the others because his run was so late. If he came out with an album before going to jail when he was just as hungry on the mic as 50 then G-Unit would be looked at as like a Wu-Tang.

Yayo's dramatic lyrical fall off and Banks losing his voice are what killed G-Unit imho.

I'll be honest Rotten Apple has a few good tracks but it's genuinely the worst album release from everyone in G-Unit.

Banks is just a lazy b*stard. He knew damn well what his album sounded like.

"The Big Withdraw" would have been a lot better. "Rotten Apple" is a decent enough album but there aren't enough standout tracks and the singles were boring.

I'd rather listen to Mo Money in the Bank 4.

was already out a while tho and on a g unit tape..good song

yeah the album in retrospect was decet but it was hurt by the fact hands up was the lead single which at the time was viewed as corny

"Cake" was a hard single in retrospect, just spitting bars over a chopped up sample with no real hook.
