Was Paul Wall respected in Houston, or just tolerated?

I still don't get why some coli members are always so mad at everything Eminem when the dude has his own lane with his own subject matter and he's not trying to act hood and then you have a dude like Paul Wall that straight jacked everything about his persona, the way he looks, acts and raps and he gets a pass. He's what coli members define as a culture vulture. I guess one is at the top and is still relevant while the other never had that much success to begin with.

I liked him up until the split with Cham and his music turned to shyt. He tightened up, or got a better ghost writer, and is back to decent.

Call me crazy but I thought his first solo album had some major sleepers on it... not People's Champ

I've heard a lot of dudes say they had respect for him, particularly with his hustle/grind. He def made some bread with the mouth pieces etc. Plus look at the company he kept and some of his collabs w dudes that wouldn't fukk with him if he was a fraud.

I remember way back seeing his and Cham's albums in best buy n shyt, but never listened to him till Still Tippin came out and he murked it. I was pleasantly surprised.
