Maybe he just meant as liquor connoisseur that beer is inferior poison compared to hennessy on some Gordon Ramsy shyt. he was just trying to be foody and we mistook it for wokeness. :troll:
Imma go with this.

Early 90s, rappers were promoting malt liquor like Old English and St. Isle's. Little kids be drinking that shyt up because they see all the adults drinking it and rappers drinking it.
Hennessy is different at least. They dont directly market themselves towards black community and it's not as cheap as malt liquor.
