What's wrong with being a lineman? He's making a decent living doing that. I understand her being upset at him getting the dui two times though.

Would you all date a woman like Lynne? Say you were a lineman or had a job similar to that and your girlfriend is upset at you because of that. How would that make you feel? I've never been in a relationship and am a 33 year old virgin and work a minimum wage job.

The movie actually made it seem like she put the battery in his back to have the ambition and achieve to a level she couldn’t given the ceiling on women back then...I salute women who make a man level up, anyone who is going to improve you is a keeper

In real life dikk Cheney actually did work that type of job and he did get 2 DUIs as well. dikk said Lynne made him get his life together.

This is what a good woman does. Push their man to be his best. Of course she happened to push one of the biggest scumbags in American history to be his scummiest but she ate good

words/phrases like “gold digger” and “riding coattails” belittles what she brought to the table for “better” and worse

cheney aside this is why some women deserve large amounts of $$$ as settlements when it comes to alimony bcuz in some cases their influence in inspiring/helping their husbands is tantamount to being a business partner

cheney is an evil piece of shyt (and saying this still feels like a huge understatement) but if we are to assume the events of the movie are pretty accurate then the role his wife played in his ascension to power goes beyond that of a “gold digger”

gold diggers come @ you after the fact when all the hard work has already been put in...a good wife was putting in work w/ you from the beginning...I’m not characterizing her as a good woman overall but I do feel comfortable saying she was good wife again assuming the details of the flick are wholly accurate

I may have to rewatch some early scenes again...but I think his drinking/racking up DUIs more than anything else triggered those conversations between them bcuz she saw that he wasn’t personally satisfied w/ what he was doing and it resulted in a lack of fulfillment

ok I think this is the real problem here that you have w/ her and rightfully so...if you want to call her a “soulless c*nt” for creating the monster that is dikk cheney then you'd get ZERO arguments from me...“gold digger” is just not the accurate word in this case tho

I thought it was pretty good and given the subject matter was basically as good as it could've been. I think the difficulty is that most of it actually happened, which makes laughing at a guy who started a war and caused hundreds of thousands of deaths including civilians difficult.
