Florida State would have still honored the scholarship for a 2 time state player of the year at QB. Statues ate in the 90s in college football, so at worst, they would have brought him in expecting him to be a prototypical pocket passer with limited mobility. The doctor said his rehab was probably gonna take a year and a half, which was nothing because FSU would have redshirted him anyway. Their QBs didn't usually start until their RS junior season.
