Back then white people with talent could do r&b and it was fine because black folks were afforded basically the same opportunities .

What opportunities that Black folks aren't getting...

The biggest RnB/Pop stars (that are current and have been active and not on some legacy bullshyt) are Black...

Beyonce, Rihanna, The Weeknd, SZA, Chris Brown...

Then on the second tier...

You got Frank Ocean and Miguel and Khalid

And below them...you got Daniel Caesar, Brent Fiyahs (who was nominated for a Grammy for Crew...), The Internet (Grammy nominated), Sid the Kid, Sampha, Solange

People really gonna point to anomalies...like Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Sam Smith and Adele (who isn't even American...)

Outside of them...how many non-Black singers can you name...that are active and current...

Nope.
Like others have said, he wasn't made 'the face' of Rnb music while simultaneously locking Black ppl out! Plus he was talented, and creative. Much more than a standard, Karokee artist! :troll:

Yea he wasnt a star but he pretty much invented the blue print.

Robin thicke and justin timberlake followed it and after wards.

White r and b have some soul make a few hits.

Bruno only considered a culture vulture cause he a star now.

Same wenches who was all over thicke or timberlake was criticizing bruno

You really think Jon B would smash in today’s music climate? Thing about Jon’s music was Babyface laced him with non-watered down shyt that appealed to black audiences. Let’s keep it real, white folks don’t know a Jon B record. He’s the only white dude who could maybe rival a black male R&B act as far as presentation, voice, and music. Bruno and Justin’s shyt is easily digestible to cacs cause their shyt is watered-down
He sings black music and isn't black he would be a super star .

He's also talented but come on they got sam smith out here being one and he's not that talented to me .

I thought the nikka was black back then tbh.

The only nonblack R&B cat I ever hit wit the :mjpls:was Beiber after them nikka tapes

I don't mind a little blue eyed Soul from time to time:mjpls:esp if they was put on by a black artist or connected to black folks in some way.
I just don't care for nonblacks in Hip Hop, shyt is corny. Only white rappers I acknowledge is Paul Wall and Lil Wyte:mjpls:
