Was asked about who I thought was a underrated wwe champion and for some reason jbl was my answer.

Had some very good matches with Eddie, Taker, Cena, Kurt and Booker during his run. Was actually funny in some of his promos but was still believable as a bully/cowardly heel.

Definitely underrated in hindsight. He was the traditional heel champ that HHH spent the previous two years aspiring to be. Plus he was the heel they needed during that ECW resurgence in 2005. Heyman hitting him with "The only reason you were WWE champion for one year is because HHH didn't wanna work Tuesdays" should've turned him to wet toilet paper but he ate that.

In hindsight yes but the title reign made JBL. He wasn’t nowhere near over/ready for that belt when he got it.

After the reign ended he was a made man but surprisingly never had another title reign which is crazy.

Great character but very weak reign in terms of quality matches for the level of talent he had to work with. The bloodbath with Eddie and specially the one he had with Cena after he lost the title were the type of shyt he should've been doing more often instead of the more traditional WWE brawler he went for.

That time period, I had finally began my career, and started dating my first ex wife, lol, not the one I mentioned being sick...she's still doing ok btw lol...

I saw a lot of it live, it was kinda jarring because he was such a different character. I always read magazines, I knew his name, and outside of wrestling he was into investing and such.

Being a wrestling fan, I've always kind of enjoyed and accepted most gimmick changes.

My older brother was an old school Bradshaw fan. On wrestlemania 2000 and no mercy that was his go to guy. He's a couple of years older, and definitely fell out of wrestling but he couldn't believe that they were the same people..

At that time period, it was great.

Paul e did really shyt on him though lmao
