was Dj Quik's video from his debut filmed in a Crip hood?

Seems like back then West Coast artists didnt go out of their way to let you know what gang they represented. Like it wasnt fashionable to spell it out for you what hood they repped. I never put two and two together when I was in high school looking at Quik's early videos, or CMW's early sh1t, or even WC & the MAAD Circle and Coolio's Fantastic Voyage video. Really though the sh1t was right in front of you, just not apparent to an outta towner's eyez.
There's a whole lot to discuss in this video though. Dude with a fanny pack, the one Mexican amongst all them niqqaz, numerous spots of red but only spots and not flamed up. I see what you sayin though as there's a few dudes in blue, but some of it's denim blue which I always took as neutral. Fascinating looking at old school West Coast videos knowing we know about bangin nowadays.

Funny enough Quik was banging on his underground tape before the ones he did after he got signed until Safe and Sound dropped. Then he was set tripping ridiculously. Now it seems regular, but back in the day, that album cover was over the top with all the Red and "P" caps he had on.

Dude in blue with the cap tilted is playa hamm, he didnt really play into that gang shyt, he the one who made quik get a job when his sisters ended up kicking him out, parts with him in it is LA where Hamm stayed, the others you can tell its in the tree's because don zelly tone and others are in the shots.
Part with Tweed caddillac playin cards is in watts, you can see the same location when kay slay took his ass out there..
Quik was living in LA around this time, keep in mind Loc is crip slang, and quik had a song called loked out hood.
Quik wasnt too flamed up at the time neither u can find him in a lot blue in photos and in videos
Hi-c and quik are from the same set you hardly ever seen them flamed, it was like a death wish, but they let it be known on wax by the street names and stuff.

you gotta remember NWA was crips and they didnt have no red in their videos so they tried to make Dj Quik video look NWAish look with all that blue and blue tones in the video to sell records.
the record label also told Dj Quik to tell people he had a lot of brothers and sisters too to make his struggle seem more real.

His dad holds a high ranking position with the borden dairy company, his sisters been jealous of him since he been alive, beause of that fact, he never met him really but was the source of income because his mom never had to really work, his brother n sister dads were dad beats, quiks dad kept food on the table.
Thats why quik been saying lately "my last name is blake and you do know that", seperating himself from that side of the family.
