Caine even rocked the solid blue shirt in the scene where his granddaddy was getting on his nerves talking that religious shyt, then him and O-Dog stomped out Ilenas cousin, so maybe it was some subtlety to it. A Wax was a crip in real life so, I'm not surprised he stayed in the blue flannel. But yeah, they definitely stayed in a crip hood
I think it's a testament to the talent of the Hughes brothers to make that film without one mention of the Crips and Bloods. It would have been much easier to flaunt that element. Boyz In The Hood, a movie that constantly gets compared to Menace, definitely played on the gang angle with the Bloods that had beef with Doughboy (who I'm sure was a Crip)
