@Skip b Despite whatever Kovalev has going for him (footwork, power) how would he have beaten dre last night? He has better footwork and accuracy, but is as slow as Barrera. Dre didn't throw the right hand at all but was consistently the first one off and was never backed up in the clinch. That's what will beat Kkkrusher, cutting off the distance countering from the inside and yes, clinching.

yeah he has good fundamentals, hit's hard and does nice things with his feet. However in that b-hop fight bernards old ass couldn't pull the trigger b.c he had Kkkov wide open multiple times

I guarantee Dre's gameplan for Kovalev will be nothing like we saw tonight. He'll be in Kovalev's chest all night long and stop any type of momentum coming at him. At that point, I'll take the defense and combination punching of Ward over Kovalev anyday.

Dre has one glaring weakness--he ducks into position to get countered with an uppercut. Same way Boone knocked him down is still his glaring weakness. Kovalev can't punch from close quarters like that. Pascal isn't elite and presents no defense--no traps no top notch footwork. B hop was 48. That win doesn't hold up in the light.
