I think part of it is that folks is tight with their money now more than ever. And when one compares quality of games, if they paid something of the "utmost" quality, if even only on the technical aspect of things and game duration, they inherently can't deal with paying the same price for what's undisputably of lesser grade in those areas. It's why everyone always throwing around a game's price in their reviews, purchase interest, etc. Counter to that is why gaming companies tend to checklist create games, for better or worse.
