I'm a drake fan, even started the thread but I don't care that much. Napoleon is obviously trolling but @ModernFonzie is a strange human, not sure what he gets out of this. I keep forgetting the Internet is full of obsessed weirdos.
What if Jay Z is behind this because Drake bounced from Tidal to Apple?
Jay Z is the boss of Roc Nation, Meek Mill's management and Big Sean's management maybe that's where they got the reference track for Blessings
Drake is getting too strong and too independent. He dropped a mixtape and didn't do any press, no video, no radio, told Birdman to fukk off. Can't set a precedent here the real owners sent word through Jay to take down the 6god
Who benefits from Drake being exposed? You think Meek is really mad cause Drake spit a ghostwritten verse, like Meek is a hippa-hoppa 5-elements of kultcha universal zulu nation bboy now?
Why would someone leak the audio? What did they gain? Money? Who paid? Meek don't got it like that.
Maybe Beatrice paid em
Thugger got arrested, Aubrey exposed,
Wayne, they coming for you
Birdman can't even type coherent sentences though, he couldn't have masterminded this alone ..
?
cross ciroc obama, jay peso, #1 stunna, and tyga brehs
Problem is, the hood ain't stepping up their lyrical game up like that. They rather make autotune tracks like Future or rap slow like Gucci Mane. Many still believe that lyrics don't sell shyt.
Cole is a simp? Even though he made a song about not saving hoes? Yall must be some outta-touch white boys or some bitter ass dark nikkas who don't wanna see anyone else blow up.
At the end of the day though, will this make any impact on music as a whole?
People honestly don't care on a mainstream level. There's always going to be some cat that maybe at one point used to write their own stuff, then doesn't anymore.
Stuff like this happens because people have unrealistic expectations for an artist.
If the artist comes out firing on their debut, remember that's a culmination of their whole life's work.
You expect a follow-up to be as great that they make by themselves in about a year's time? Keep in mind that the time in between their first two albums may be the most busiest time in that person's life to that point. Tours, events, interviews, etc. Stuff they never really had to deal with before, and if they did, not nearly of the same magnitude and abundance.
It's either they a) have writer's to help them make a great album or b) take a longer hiatus to work on the album to make it great if it's going to be all them.
Although there is no excuse for ghostwriting, some rap fans want their favorite rapper to drop mad mixtapes, have a record label, drop an album yearly, and go on massive tours.
Best thing to do as an artist is not to reveal EVERYTHING in your debut album, so that you have quality material for future projects.
Exactly. And of all the shytty trends that have invade hip hop. From garbage ass auto tune rappers. To gibberish rap. To generic mustard beats. All of it.
The one thing I really wouldn't be able to deal with is this ghostwriting shyt becoming okay . Which is why I can't feel anyone cosignin this shyt.
Of all the shyt we put up with in rap, this would be the absolute worst. Because it would inspire a generation of "rappers" who would get on but have other people writing for them.
That's why he either has to go, or at the very least he can't be the face of rap.
I mean before you heard rumors about it. He say she say. But it was Always cardinal sin for someone to have ghostwriters.
Drake fans are such hoes, and there are so many of them. That they'll defend this to the end, and it'll fukk around and become the new normal. For guys to have ghostwriters and fir dudes to be about it.
Shaming rappers who use ghostwriters is the only tradition that hasn't been destroyed yet. And we can't let that happen. The very future of the genre depends on it.
Everything else is gone. This can't go too.
Drake is one of the worst things to happen to hip hop.EVER. A lower level guy doing this shyt wouldn't be a big deal. But for the face of the genre it's a big thing, and he has given birth to the worst rap fans of all time who cosign everything. Even shyt that is clearly wrong.
I agree. Him and Fif are the worst thing to happen to the genre because of the excessive use of gimmicks, ghost writers, and drama for sales and stannery. This era is as inorganic as it can get with all the autotune ad the hi hats 808s and excessive cursing on so called RnB songs.
i listened to 10 Bands for the first time since this shyt came out...it does kind of stick out like a sore thumb.
Drake should have just let that boy get that first verse off...break a rapper instead of hopping on a semi bubbling one.
Why is everybody mad at Meek if he is telling the truth?
People keep saying it's a lot of rappers with Ghostwriters which is fine but me personally as a rap fan would like to know if a rapper writes their own lyrics
It wouldn't make me stop listening to a rapper totally
But there is no way I could consider someone as the Best Rapper in the game if they don't write their own lyrics... Period
