The breaking bad hype has reached a breaking point. There is no way he is the best character in Tv history. The main problem with breaking bad is it is suspense, thriller and action first before drama. As a result the depth of the character suffer.

I have to agree with you.

The dualities of Walter White and watching what the decisions and outcomes of an everyday man was beautiful woven. Now it wasn't as intricate as a theatrical opera but Brian played everything beautiful, from the bumbling father to heinous strategical drug dealer, all while capturing every single emotion on his face, his grimaces, his voice inflections....perfectly culminated when he said

"if i were you..."
"I'd tread lightly"

There were a lot of people who were considered for the role. However the only actor I can think of pulling it off as good as Cranston is Tom Hanks imo. I think Tom Hanks could have killed the role just as good as Cranston if not possibly better. Hanks fits the whole look and style of Heisenberg.

I did like how Walter got out of a ton of situations and (spoiler) how he killed gus was just flat out genius.

But best character as In boss or gangster, uh hell naw, dude should have been killed Jesse Crack head ass and he literally allowed his smut ass wife to fukk her boss and put his back against the wall most of the series. I mean she covered for the wrong of her boss but got all holy and righteous with walt, that was some bullshyt.

Now If he would have just killed Jesse and found a plethora of hoes for the stable especially after his wife cheated then yea walt could be up there.

He also should have killed hank, he saw how relentless he was on catching hiesenberg, would have saved himself letting gus take him out actually.
