I’ve ended up checking out/fukking with several artists music because I stumbled across an interview of theres and fukked with them. Wale and Kanye are the only artists I’ve stopped ducking with because of their antics outside of their art. I’m usually able to separate the art from the artists but every time I get ready to push play on these two bytches I think to myself “He’s such a lil bytch though.”

But Cole indefinitely has plenty joints women play still till this day. I’ve heard women more recently play All I Want Is You and Party over any Wale song. Women love Cole more. And always have. Work Out was another one.

Cole has more fans period so it’s not like that’s a revelation. They love Wale songs but not Wale himself. It’s always been the case

Cole and Wale rap about similar shyt but Wale can’t decide if he wants to appeal to the masses or the purists. He’s not quite Lupe but he isn’t as accessible as Cole either. Like, think about their first major feature Beautiful Bliss. Wale had a much better extended rhyme scheme and Cole was just to the point and passionate and it resonated. That’s really their entire careers in a nutshell. Wale is too cool and even when he’s vulnerable it doesn’t hit the same. Unsurprisingly Hov is his favorite rapper and he has that same problem. The difference is Hov is better than Wale by a mile at everything else and had a major engaging street persona.

The fact that ya'll are trying to say the guy who made Bad, The Body, The Matrimony, the Ambitious Girl series, That Way, On Chill, Cool Off, Poledancing, Clappers, No Hands, and Lotus fukking Flower Bomb isn't seen as a ladies rapper and doesn't excel in that area is ridiculous. nice try, but the context of that is in the fact that the guy is saying wale is better than cole simply off of him being "more clever lyrically"

which lets say if Wale is more "clever" than Cole, then yes it dont mean shyt in the long run. Theres more to a rapper than being clever: voice, flow, cadence, delivery, and style all matter. NVM other elements like artistry, storytelling, songwriting

these are all elements to a rapper, and in which case Cole is better.



I have listened to almost all of Wale's catalog, and he is no Lupe, or even Nas in the creative shyt. He has decent concepts but his ideas are nothing to out of the realm of unexpectedness and profoundness that hes "above" cole

that jesus piece song being one, its cool. But it ultimately is just another personifcation song which rappers have been doing since forever in the 90s. Nothing about it is innovative

Wale isn't Lupe because no one is, but Wale is a superior lyricist to Cole by a sizeable gap and has a wider creative pallet by a sizeable gap.

Cole has a better voice and delivery and enunciation. He has improved a great deal in recent years and has advantages over Wale, but where ya'll lose me is when I'm hearing stuff like Cole is way better or it's not even a conversation. I find that absurd as lyricism, creativity, and concepts are aspects of rapping that are hugely important to people who appreciate the art form of rapping.

Cole's fanbase overrated his lyrical abilities(specifically pre-Offseason) because they're comparing him to mainstream radio giants. It's the equivalent of being the big fish in a little pond. Offseason is the first time I've heard him truly come into his potential as a rapper.

As for creatively excellent songs. You've already mentioned Jesus Piece.

Breh, this is your opinion. Nothing here is fact. The fact that you've reduced this whole argument to me not being Black or not being around women speaks more to your lack of intelligence to properly argue your point than it does about me. "Matrimony" isn't a clinic in making a song about women. It's not at all what you're making it out to be. And to speak to that, I'll give you an example, few artists have written songs about women as great as Common's "The Light" or "Come Close". Hugely popular songs among women, but there were bigger songs targeted towards women during that era that were more popular even if they were nowhere near as better written or even remotely as overall better.
