He's too plain. It's very rare, if ever, a person sells or pops that doesn't have a lane. He's not a street rapper, he's not looked at as a ladies rapper, a party rapper, a spiritual rapper, a flossy rapper, drug dealer rapper, a boom bap rapper, a conscious rapper, pod head rapper, college rapper, nothing. He's just kind of...there. And his music sounds like it. I don't get any feel from him. Fans like to identify with the person first and foremost, that's what gravitates them more to your music. For a talented as I think Wale is, I can’t figured out why his music typically sounds so blah to me. Outside of Fluctuate, the album is a snooze fest to me. I genuinely feel he could make great music though, just don’t know what the disconnect is.
Let me stop lol
This guy just compared Wale to Elton JohnYall gotta let this sales thing go..
Elton John just sold 12,000 first week.
Elton John will still get 100 milli of his upcoming tour.
Sales go away the longer you in it.
his talent level didn't/doesn't overpower how obnoxious he was, simple as thatI think his social media personality (being sensitive) undermined his artistic ability
He went from being one of the top rappers in his class in terms of following to being the guy people just knew for being sensitive on Twitter and IG, it was a wrap after that
album was still quality though so whatever
I Kinda like that about him doe .He's too plain. It's very rare, if ever, a person sells or pops that doesn't have a lane.
