People forget black people were inlove with Trump before his presidency. Like legit. Most of your favorite celebs got a picture with him. My mom loved the celebrity apprentice.

I remember everyone used to rap about him.

And didn’t he defend Michael Jackson during his molestation case?

I have to agree to disagree. His background was not always known to the masses.

Growing up in Piffsburgh. All I knew about Trump was his name. His hotels. His interviews on talk shows like Oprah. And general info.

I and others around me knew nothing else. Now if I was in Philly I would have been more in touch with the local news.

Even if Trump did something egregious that made the news… it is totally different than social media news we have today. If you missed the 10 o’clock news with a segment on Trump and did not see it in the paper the next day it never happened for you. Now we can easily click and pull up all the info we want.

I can tell you for a fact that while people may not have been jumping for joy over Trump.. They generally did not have ill feelings for him. Why would we. We didn’t know him.

I see what you mean.
If you were not into what I feel prohibition era type entertainment. Like smoking, drinking, gambling...you could have easily missed info or Trump.
Which I admit. Is why Trump has such blind love now. From people Trump would definitely pull class on. Like southern people support8n Trump. Makes no sense. As Trump is rhe very guy who perpetuated. Being a northerner and being demonstrative to southern people.
So I can see what you mean. As right now most of the world. Has no idea about his back ground. While blindly following.
as if it is a roadway to the American dream. When Trump has always been.
a ponzi scam meets classist real estate bankruptcy style son of a klansman.

People just learned to read in America in our gen as a pre-req. So the ignorance displayed. Is indicative of that too.
As now you can see more. Than back in the day. Like when you missed something. It was totally unbeknownst to you. Especially a public.
that just learned to read in general when we were kids.
America has only been literate as a general pre-req for barely theory or fourth years. You factor in crack and the level of ignorance.
makes sense to the current day and age.

100%. Growing up here in Michigan I knew of him but not much other than he was rich and owned hotels. I didn't know anything about his racist housing discrimination or the racist ad on the central park 5 until his foray into politics and all that stuff got dug up. My opinion of him leading up to that was neutral and I don't remember any of my family/friends saying anything negative about him if he came up as a subject at all.

How old are you? The reason why I ask is because I thought the pulse at the time was that the majority of the entire country, including blacks, thought they were guilty
I don't recall that being the case, but I was a kid. I remember the city was definitely on a yuppies vs. everyone else kind of thing.

Liar, people knew him as a sleazy yuppie con artist. Nobody liked Yuppies back in the 80s and 90s. It was literally a derogatory term for that generation and he was the face of it. Not mention people used to clown his hotels as tacky.
saying black people loved trump is like saying black people loved Gordon Gekko. Thats how Trump was viewed before he got into politics
I'ma have to disagree with u on this one bro.

Trump was looked at maybe like bill gates or something.
Nobody had a problem with trump.

This sht all started with the political stuff.
People started saying he's racist...and blacks don't fck with trump.

I don't fck with none of these people
But MFers really be rewriting history like some of us wasn't alive back then
