I think it’s a good look for Charlotte. shyt like this and the Carmichael Show gives Mecklenburg an identity. Y’all got one, but stuff like this let’s other folks who ain’t never been or just know about CIAA see it too.

Already starting to happen... part of the “woke black art” wave ... hopefully it lasts and becomes more than a fad.

White owned art galleries are taking in Afrocentric black artists at a much higher rate and also partnering with those artists ...


Raleigh has a really dope black curated, black art series and art community programming called “Black on Black...” it’s part of a informal, loose art collective that includes Raleigh Durham black and minority singers dancers, singers, media artists, academics, etc.

Exactly . Charlotte really needs to keep doing more distinctive events like this to separate itself from the rest of the cookie cutter, sprawly, high growth sunbelt cities.
