Oh i didn't get what you were saying, but you are right, most of the PR culture is directly descended from the Africans who were brought in after most of the Taino indians died but there's some things that the Tainos left behind are still relevant and some merged with the african culture. The word barbecue literally comes direct from the Tainos but even then Africans perfected that lol. They (Cuba and Puerto Rico) had a lot white settlement. Lots of Shepherdi Jewish immigrants. That's why your "average" Puerto Rican or Cuban doesn't look like your average Dominican or Panamanian.

I think afro Latinos do support their African heritage. I think people assume everyone in Latin America are descendants of African Slaves.
