Summed it up perfectly. Hate that fakkit.The show actually tied each character on the wire to real life. Herc was supposed to be that guy who no matter what he did he never changed, every officer learned something except Herc...dude was just out for himself as you can see that when he fukks the whole case up against Marlo at the end of the show. How do you fukk a case you worked on up? Herc is without a doubt the worst character on that show. Dude is a living example of a static character.

Namond either is saved from his continuum by god-intervention (this is a nod to death of a salesman, a streetcar named desire, and waiting for godot) or he becomes a Royce, Burell type. I'm not 100% sure where they were going with this.
I'm thinking Namond becomes Norman Wilson (Administrative Aide dude who helped Carcetti win Mayor's office).
