Never made millions but I had a run of making burned CDs and DVDs and it was definitely lucrative. Only really took orders from people was never just out but word spread quick. Didn’t match my firestick hustle but definitely really good side money and I didn’t put in maximum effort.

Yeah, it virtually cost them nothing. Just 11.99 for pack of 50 Blank CDs. Then use limewire to download music to put on CDs. Then sell for $10 each. That's $488 straight profit. This was also the mixtape era, where the whole hood was listening to mixtapes and bootleg albums.

Also if you was the ringtone man that added custom ringtones to people's nextels and sidekicks. You was making bank. Both situations tax-free.

burning cd's/dvds. addicted to porn nikkas would be the main DVD customers. then modding xboxes and burning xbox games.. if you was in a hood, and/or around a college, one could eat pretty decent

Same here breh. I was selling burned CDs in the early 2000s and that shyt was easy money. And we didn’t even have the artwork. All we did was take a sharpie and write the name of the albums and mixtapes on the CDs

I’m terrible with remembering things in years but one anchor memory is when Jay Z blueprint dropped. Remember it coming out early and everyone wanting it. Was already in it by then. I was early with having a CD burner installed in my computer. I believe my internal burner costed like 150-200 at that time. Then some of my people had a cd burning tower we used for bigger runs. Mainly I was just dealing with single burns though. I found a niche with older people who wanted classic R&B and soul stuff. Would just take orders directly for all the CDs they wanted or find stuff they’d be looking for.

It depends how it was done and the amount of songs being transferred. Originally there were CDs burners, that you would put a CD in and copy it from CD to CD and had to basically copy the whole CD. That's would take a while, up to 45 minutes to an hour each CD. Then when the formats went to mp3s aka became digital you could pick and choose what songs you wanted to copy, and the process took 10-15mins. Again depending on how big the song files were for each song. Higher quality songs and longer songs contained for data to be transferred. Also, depends on the specs of your computer/ laptop.
