Not even a huge hockey fan but after some thought, the Stanley Cup might actually be the trillest trophy in pro sports. Never thought about it before now.
definitely agree for a few reasons
- the winning team is etched in the statue.. so every team that ever won one, is etched in... the names of all of the winning players, coaches, management, and club staff engraved on its chalice.
- then once a new teams wins it, the oldest team (holds 13) gets removed off the cup, and placed into the hall of fame, and they add a new fresh piece
- there's only one cup.. so your teams holds on to it all year until the next team wins... so even if you win no games and don't make the playoffs, you still get to hold that trophy all year
- look up things players have done with the trophy.. i love the history of it even if i don't watch hockey. people on winning teams usually get a week or two to do whatever they want. some people take it to the bar, take it on trips, do crazy shyt with it. but its always the same cup
That's what I dig about it too. It's THE Stanley Cup and not just a Stanley Cup.
Like I said, not even a hockey fan but I thought it was dope when the Bruins won it and got that HUGE bottle of champagne with the $156K bar tab. Cats go EXTRA hard when they win that thing.

Either or...but I always loved the one on the right the most...The undisputed one was ill as fukk too.
