It's always been their M.O. we are genetically superior to them. They bred us during slavery to be faster and stronger than them. Our natural melanin makes us better equipped to deal with the harness of the sun. The only thing they had left was preventing us from gaining knowledge and even after a 400 year headstart we're still catching up and even lapping them in certain areas. But for us it is the norm. Maybe its them who are simply less than the norm.
Instead of thinking black people are supremely athletic, perhaps White people are just less athletic than a normal human is supposed to be. Maybe generations of having other people labor for them didn't make us more athletic, but instead allowed them to fall off in that department.
We treat white people as the norm too much and act like everything outside of their norms is exceptional, when realistically why aren't we the norm? and they are just less than exceptional? i think they push this mentality to save face, like for example, would you rather say your meat is smaller than an average human is supposed to be? or just build a myth that people bigger than you are packin and bigger than average?
but to be fair some black folks like the idea of being seen as exceptional rather than normal
