What indication do you have that Canelo and Cotto will outdraw mayweather when their last 3 ppvs combined don't equal the Maidana numbers

what world are you living in, they would have to do close to a million buys to out do mayweather no matter who he fights and that's not happening with them two

Yet Oscar and Trinidad, the biggest mexican and puerto rico star ppv numbers are the same as Shane V.s. Mayweather

Cotto and Canelo are not oscar and triniad by a long stretch

Floyd did 900,000 fighting maidana, the might not even reach 700,000, I predict 650,000 which would be a good outing for them

Trinidad/Oscar did not take place on Cinco de Mayo weekend it happened in Sept or Oct if I remember correctly. Had it happened on that weekend the #s would have been even crazier.

I'll put whatever you want up that Canelo/Cotto will either take the date or do better than anyone Floyd faces not named Manny if they go head to head.

you are hedging your bets, if they take the date, they should still do more pay per view numbers than whoever Floyd fights if it's not Manny according to your logic

if they went head up on the same day mayweather would still beat them because he's a bigger star than both of them combined, people pay to see mayweather not his opponent, but from a business stand point it would be dumb to do because you would lose potential sells because of two events going on at the same time. So why go head up just to prove you can out do him, when you can do even better numbers having your own date

De La Hoya fought Trinidad on the 18th of september, numbers didn't come close to canelo and floyd

Margarito's a mexican and cotto's a puerto rican, where was the influx of sells from that rivalry when they only did 450,000 the first time
then 650,000 the second time at the height of cotto's popularity

If Floyd isn't fighting Manny he will give up that date to Canelo. No one is going to watch Floyd/Khan :scust: Floyd/Devon :scust: Over Canelo/Cotto, on Cinco de Mayo.

It's not about giving up the date, it's about who makes a fight first

but that's what I'm saying

Cotto and Canelo are not outselling Mayweather period no matter who fights

The difference is on the independence day is that Oscar and Trinidad (a puero rican and mexican, the biggest stars these countries have ever had) only did 1.4 million and Mayweather and Canelo did over 2 million, so your rival doesn't mean shyt next to the biggest star in the sport

Margarito wasn't the draw, Cotto was, and Cotto's draw has diminished since then. He was the A side in the sergio fight and it did way less than the first Margarito fight

Canelo's ppvs have all tanked, outside of mayweather who was the draw, put the two together and they should have a decent outing at best
