He actually didn't play Goku on the Ocean Dub that aired on Toonami over here in the states.
See, about a year after Funimation switched to in-house, YTV in Canada and Cartoon Network's London channel picked up the rights to air DBZ. However, Canadian broadcast television has this weird ass rule about "Non-Canadian" content. So AB Groupe, who owns DBZ's distribution in Canada and the UK, had to produce their own dub for the Android saga to the end, with a Canadian cast instead of just sub-licensing the Funi dub. They used Westwood studios, who like FUNimation did for the Saiyan and Namek saga, used the Ocean Group to do their voices. They just recycled the FUNimation dub for the scripts.
Peter Kelamis, who was Goku's Ocean voice actor in the Namek saga played Goku in these episodes at first but then Kirby Morrow replaced him.
An important thing to note is though we call the old edited dub with different voices the Ocean dub for easiness' sake, it was still produced by FUNimation. Ocean Group just provided the voices. Same thing with the Westwood dub that aired in Canada.
