I’ve gotta be frank, as Americans we look like the most gullible, propagandized, simpleton sheep on the planet when people say shyt like this. Yes, the war in Ukraine is horrible but the standard has been set by the standard bearers in Washington and we have been convinced that this is the only way to conduct business. Why the fukk is Putin or any other leader beholden to international law? The main ones preaching the shyt don’t follow it.

For Americans, it’s totally normalized for our govt to overthrow countless govts and prop up horrible regimes that support their interests. So if geopolitics is to remain in this type of ignorance then what’s stopping Putin from playing that same game? Or China? Since these are our boogeymen. So long as we feel that the things our govt does around the world is excused by our need for safety (which we wouldn’t need if said govt didn’t spend so much time spreading violence and poverty around the globe) then you’ll see instances like Ukraine. Seriously, how can any of us feel comfortable enough to sit on a high horse when our tax dollars are being used for the ugliest form of geopolitical bullying the world has ever seen. It’s pretty disgusting.
I agree with you. The hypocrisy is glaring, and it's sad how so many people ignore it. We get constantly fed a narrative that America is this moral authority while simultaneously engaging in the same things we condemn Russia or China for. Our foreign policy is terrible. It's more about maintaining dominance and protecting so-called interests than about promoting true democracy and stability. I hate it. It makes me mad how normal it is for our government to topple regimes or support dictators under the guise of 'national security.' It's a gross double standard. I'm not justifying it, nor do I ignore it. We are witnessing it at its most glaring in Palestine and too few people care.

Worse yet, they wonder why anyone would or should care at all. You don’t see what type of ugly psychological mutilation happens to the average American until situations like this happen. Covid also exposed just how exceptional and gaudy our society is. When you add the moral high horse it’s pretty embarrassing.
