anybody with sense can look on at ukraine and say they deserve all the acknowledgement in the world for fighting beyond what anyone expected. that's clear. If the war ended now. And Russia held the 16% of land it has now. This war will be seen as ukraine mounting a successful defense against a larger adversary in the history books. It will be seen as a Russia failure for the amount of losses and minimal gains. Not to mention they didn’t achieve any of their strategic goals.
however as plainly as anyone can state it - if they've lost ground, its still lost ground. forces do great things and don't have a perfect victory literally throughout history. saying otherwise doesn't diminish what they're doing or make the road ahead somewhat easier or harder.
like i know im not tripping for acknowledging a staggering human cost for the folks defending their land. so like.... if yal so used to arguing with weirdos that anyone else looks like one for stating as much, then cool
