This weekend is the perfect reason why Wrestlemania needs to be only one night. All the best stuff(the women's triple threat, the Punk/Reigns/Rollins triple threat, Charlotte vs Tiffany, the four way for the intercontinental championship, Gunther vs Jey Uso, and Rhodes vs Cena) could have have fit on one card.
Everything else could have been on the Raw and Smackdown before Wrestlemania.![]()
Steve Austin on the 2025 HOF ceremony: "I learned that the Hall of Fame ought to be a little bit shorter than what it was, and it ought to start about 3 or 4 hours sooner. I got to bed about, 3:15, I’d call it 3:16. When that alarm clock went off, I was red-eyed and drunk. I said, ‘Man, what the F,
I completely agree. Splitting WrestleMania into two nights spreads the excitement too thin and honestly kills the momentum. You end up with a lot of filler just to justify the runtime, and it waters down the whole experience. Triple H is just not good enough to sustain this kind of format. The storytelling isn't strong enough to fill two nights, and everything suffers because of it.This weekend is the perfect reason why Wrestlemania needs to be only one night. I just noticed ESPN didn’t really give a shyt about Mania this year. They’d usually send out alerts for match results. Out of both nights they only sent a Cena wins one.![]()
This was the Streets Disciple of Mania’s.
The Rock showed up the night after Mania to basically challenge Cody Rhodes. That went nowhere. Then The Rock comes back around and is asking Cody to "be MY champion... Cody."
Cody refuses so The Rock aligns himself with John Cena at 'Elimination Chamber' and we NEVER see The Rock again......![]()
This is the most baffling part because the two night thing should enable you to do deep storytelling and time for every part of the card and all titles and instead they run them like 2010-2015 WMs of short bullshyt fluff. It's very weird. HHH in the post show said something about how you can't throw all your nukes out back to back and have nothing left and like...that's not the point. You can have two well built satisfying shows back to back with a lot of storylines ending or continuing without being Kevin Feige breaking every emergency button at once for new Avengers movies.I completely agree. SummerSlam being two nights is gonna feel the same way. Instead of one night of nonstop hype matches, we'll get half the card padded with mid or unimportant stuff.
I never understood why they just don't put the HOF on Thursday evening after switching to 3 days of wrestling with Friday being Smackdown and Mania on Saturday/Sunday. Or even just make USA/whoever is airing Smackdown take the no wrestling and put the HOF in Smackdown's timeslot.
They should just tape the SmackDown before WrestleMania and have the majority of it at WWE World like they used to do back in the day.
