Hm, not trying to get you into trouble, but instead of a USPS P.O Box, would a private mail box from FedEx or UPS work? You use the building's actual address instead of a P.O one. Just an idea, though it seems very borderline.

The woman at the licensing office in our city told my wife if they stop by to do an inspection (highly unlikely) and they see there's no place to conduct interviews or have meetings we'd be in violation of some law. I should go back and ask her which law i'd violate so I can research it.

I think I may be leaving out an important fact that may be confusing some people about my situation.

In my city in GA you can't have employees and run your business from a home office.

If I had a business that didn't need employees there would be no problem.

This wasn't always the case because in 2006 I had employees and had a home office but sometime between now and then, in my city/county/state(?), it became illegal. I stopped running the business in 2008. As far as I know it was legal in '08 as well.

My wife's business in Ga doesn't use sub contractors so she needs employees. This is why we're considering the virtual office for her situation. Right now she's operating as a sole proprietor. The business is growing to the point where she can't handle all the work and she's having to turn away business.

The business I'm trying to start in Dallas/Ft. Worth won't be a problem because we'll be using sub contractors. I'm considering the virtual office only to avoid drop ins. $59 is worth the peace of mind.

Thanks for trying to help though. I appreciate it.

LLCs are governed by state law so you'll want to double check as some states have very funky rules regarding this issue. It might also affect your ability to get a business license. I know here in Chicago, many businesses that are located in co-working facilities or even virtual offices have been running into this problem.

I would make sure it's a place that you can receive physical mail. A lot of people get antsy about using their home address for the reasons stated above.

Are they running into problems because they don't have a registered agent at the facility to receive the mail or are they running into other problems as well?

Any of you ladies/gents use Virtual offices as your registered address for an llc?

If so what state are you in?

I'm considering doing this and I'm gonna contact a lawyer to make sure it's legal in the Dallas Ft Worth area.

Just wondering if anyone else has real world experience they care to share.

If you think you may know someone doing this please @ them and direct them to my thread. Thank you.
