I’ll never forget the day when my paternal grandfather told me and my sister that his grandfather was a slave (I’m only four generations from slavery....) These photos should be a daily reminder that slavery was not as far off as cac’s and c00ns make it seem.

Exactly. I saw some documentary showing how slavery was still going on up until the 60s in places throughout the south. It’s not like slaves had access to any information going on outside the plantation to even know slavery was over unless the slave master announced it to them or someone Black from outside the plantation came in. I also didn’t realize the extremely mass amount of free labor is done in prison. Didn’t even realize it’s was California inmates fighting the wildfires in California for basically a dollar a hour... They want us to be enslaved forever.
