Curt hawkins should be working at fukkn jiffy lube

it’s hard to feel bad for those who have been there for years making 6 figures. No way you should be that damn hurt.

plus she’s saying it came out of nowhere? How did you not think cuts were coming?

Every industry has/is dealing with some form of job/budget cuts because of COVID-19 so I don’t know why people thought that the wrestling industry would be immune to it.

They haven't done the cuts around Survivor Series and after WM for many years now, and they've made it a point not to release anyone that could possibly be of any worth to other companies and flat out hoarding for years, so it is pretty surprising that they'd cut 40 people in a week even during this time. Especially as literally no other even semi major company is firing people. TNA filmed 12 weeks of shows, paid companies they worked with for cancelled shows, ROH held a meeting to tell everyone their jobs were safe, NJ is paying everyone, etc.

Yet Vince fires 40+ people, saving the amount of money Goldberg got paid for 2 matches and then made more than that amount in stock dividends in the same week.

People should be surprised because this is blatant scumbaggery even by Vince standards.

Vince has always been known to be scumbaggery, so why even be surprised?

Again I ask, why do people think the wrestling industry should be immune to job/budget cuts if every other industry is doing it as well? Just because other companies are cutting talent now doesn’t mean that they won’t when it’s all said and done.

People are making it personal when it’s a business decision. The majority of the cut talent should have been gone long ago. The fact that they are getting right now doesn’t change that.

I don't disagree that most of the people cut should have been cut a long time ago, which is why waiting until something like this to mass cut people they didn't want or use for years when everything is shut down and those people can't just go out and take bookings to save the amount one person gets is wild scummy. Especially as WWE is still on track for a wildly profitable year even if they aren't able to run shows with crowds the rest of the year. Vince is using a pandemic to fire people, while being on a taskforce to reopen the economy. :francis:
