More like they know if they drop him, he'll organize a legitimate, legally-backed union, possibly hit them with a wrongful termination - or worse - come at them over their 'independent contractor' con. Cheaper to keep... him, in this situation, I bet. Cuh probably coasting knowing he has long-term employment just off of what he knows they know he can do if they drop him.
